The Basics Of Ozark Gymnastics

In Ozark gymnastics is a type of sport, which involves performing exercises which require physical strength, coordination, agility, flexibility, balance, power, and courage. The term gymnastics traces its origin from Greek word gymnos which translates to naked whereas gymnazo means training when naked. There are numerous other Greek terms that are related to these two and also have close meanings. The exercise was known by that term since people during that time exercised naked.

Internationally, this exercise is coordinated by an international body. Every state has a governing body that is affiliated to the international body. People who perform the exercises are referred to as gymnasts. The discipline has many branches and the gymnasts have the liberty to specialize in whichever branch they want. The major branches are trampolining, team gym, artistic tumbling, rhythmic, acrobatic, and aerobic gymnastics.

Competitors in the artistic division of the sport vary in age beginning from 20 months old children. Other classes and age groups include recreational exercise, children group, competitive, and world class. The mastery of skills among contestants varies with each group. Events are grouped into those for men, kids, and women.

Major women events include floor exercise, vault, balance beam, and uneven bars. Men activities include high bar, vault, parallel bars, floor exercise, pommel horse, and still rings. The exercises may last a short time but they are exhausting requiring flexibility, strength, and endurance. These exercises evolved from circus performance skill and activities performed by ancient Greeks. Greek exercise included skills used to dismount and mount horses.

Scoring in both women and men events is found from deductions taken from the start values. The start values are calculated basing on levels of difficulty of various elements gymnasts try out and whether they meet the composition requirements or not. Composition requirement varies with the type of event one tries out. This value is known as D score.

Deductions in artistry and executions are subtracted from 10.0. The value 10.0 in this case is referred to as an E score. The final score is got by adding deductions from E score to D score. There have been a few changes in the method used to calculate the final score since 2007. Since then, a bonus is added to executions to get a final score.

In various kinds of tumbling or aerial routines, landing makes the final stage. Landing follows flight and take off. Landing is an important skill in relation to executions in competition scores, injury occurrence, and general performance. If one applies less energy, the probability of sustaining severe injuries increases. Injuries primarily occur within the lower extremities. The main injuries include cartilage lesions, ligament tears, and bone fractures and/or bruises. Gymnasts should use proper skills and techniques to score highly and avoid injuries.

The final ground contact should be performed in a safe, aesthetic, and properly executed double foot landing. A successful landing is classified as soft. This means that knees and hip joints are at more than sixty three degrees of flexion. When in need of learning the best techniques in this exercise, Ozark gymnastics is the best to consider.
